Soos came highly recommended from dear friends who are regular diners there and now that I’ve finally had the pleasure of dining there myself, I have to say: mind blown! The food is 10/10, the atmosphere is GORGEOUS and the staff is so fun, hip and cool. Get the chilli oil with your meal, you will not regret it. Every item we ordered was a show stopper, immaculately presented with flavours bursting in every direction of our mouths. I was in food heaven and will be going back this weekend! Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Many veggie options available. I had the tofu curry which was fantastic! Dietary restrictions: I am gluten intolerant, and they accommodated all of my gluten-free requests.

Went in as a group of 6 and had the “feed me” menu. Regular price is $65 per person but we were offered a premium version for $75 and decided to go with it. According to our server, the premium just means you get more food/dishes. Onto the food. The first dish was the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo and it was a hit in our table. The ingredients work very well together and it’s a delicious dish. Dhal & Roti was next and despite the simplicity of this dish, it was incredibly flavourful. The Roti was perfect and could not have come out of the oven more than 30 seconds before it was served to us. The Yellow Lentil Dhal tasted like a meal you get at your grandma’s on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Comforting and delicious. The Kapitan Chicken Tacos and Sarawak Prawns did not match the level of the first two dishes in my opinion. I liked the lemongrass flavour of the tacos but overall thought they were just ok. Thought the prawns didn’t carry a lot of flavour on them and the pineapple was the actual ingredient that gave this dish flavour. The Prosperity Tossed Slaw is amazing. Every bite, every ingredient combines perfectly. It is delicious and I could have had one entirely by myself. Sharing this one was not enough as many people were craving more, a sign that the dish is excellent. The Banana Leaf Fish (which was trout for us) is a miss in my opinion. It didn’t taste bad by any means but it was just way too plain and simple. Not a lot of flavour to be honest. Char Kway Teow is amazing. Perfect noodles, great ingredient combination, absolutely delicious. It was the best large plate meal by far. The Rendang Braised Beef is just ok. Tastes exactly like you’d expect but I wouldn’t necessarily order it. Having this dish end the menu wasn’t ideal because it is by far the most heavy/fulfilling one so by the time it arrived, some people were already full and didn’t have room to try. We did not have dessert. Service was a tiny bit rushed at times, with the bussers trying to remove some plates before people were finished. Our server however was great! We ordered a couple wine bottles that were nice and paired well with our meal. Ambiance was nice! Overall I liked Soos, would go back and would definitely recommend it.
