Sottovento was an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely phenomenal—every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to Juan, who was an amazing bartender. His cocktails were expertly crafted, his recommendations were spot on, and his friendly personality made the evening even more enjoyable. He let us try an off menu piña colada soda, and oh my god it was the the most refreshing version of a piña colada I've ever had. Highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed. Emanuel was a superb host who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He consistently checked on us throughout the evening, ensured we were well taken care of, and somehow managed to make sure our glasses were never empty without ever being intrusive. The combination of incredible food, exceptional service, and warm hospitality made for a memorable night. We can't wait to come back and highly recommend Sottovento to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. Price per person: $30–40

The food experience here was so disappointing. From portion size vs. price, to taste, to presentation. They failed hard in every single aspect. We steered with a beets and goat cheese salad alongside a beef carpaccio. Both starters had more arugula than anything else. Only four slices of prosciutto for $40; simply unacceptable. The beets were not fresh and again had a disproportionate amount of arugula on it. Moving to the main dish, I ordered a fettuccine mascapore with prosciutto. The prosciutto came straight out of the fridge to my plate. No care in preparation, no preparation etiquette. They simply slapped three slices of cold prosciutto over the pasta. The server was very nice (appears to be in training, but even then she did everything right), however the food was so mediocre that I truly hope she finds a job some place else where people feel inclined to leave a better tip, aligned with a better experience. Here, I couldn’t. Price per person: $70–80 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Up scale Italian restaurant. Friendly staff, especial thanks to Chris, and great tasting food. My husband and I stayed at Royal Sonesta for 3 nights and Sottovento Ristorante is our favorite! Great halibut dish and filet mignon that was made to perfection. We dined here twice during our stay and it’s now my favorite place to eat on the island! Highly recommend it!
