Soul Kitchen, Ubud Although I only stopped by for coffee and cake, this visit left a very positive impression on me. First of all, special praise goes to Bar Captain Aris. His coffee-making skills are exceptional. The coffee was rich, aromatic, smooth, and beautifully balanced. What impressed me most was his latte art — when the cup arrived, I was delighted to see a beautifully crafted rabbit design on top. It was both creative and professional, reflecting the care and passion he puts into his work. Coffee The coffee was full-bodied and fragrant without being overly bitter. It had excellent depth of flavor and was the kind of coffee that invites you to slow down and savor every sip. Cake I paired my coffee with the mille crepe cake, which had a lovely texture and complemented the coffee well. Personally, I found it slightly sweeter than my preference, but that is simply because I do not have a particularly sweet tooth. Many dessert lovers would probably enjoy it. Service Beyond the quality of the coffee, the service truly stood out. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout my visit. Aris, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure guests felt welcomed and comfortable, creating a warm and genuine hospitality experience. If you are visiting Ubud and looking for a cozy place to unwind with a quality cup of coffee, I would highly recommend Soul Kitchen. Great coffee, impressive latte art, and sincere service make this café well worth a visit. A special thank you to Bar Captain Aris for making this coffee experience such a memorable one. Some dishes we tried were nice, especially the shuba salad and chicken soup. We really enjoyed those. The dumpling dough was a bit bland/watery and softer than I expected, so we didn’t enjoy the dumplings as much as we have in other places. As a result, they didn’t seem as juicy. The syrniki were also softer and sweeter than I personally prefer. Many dishes on the menu were unavailable during our visit. We were initially given cards instead of a traditional menu. While it looked interesting, I didn’t find it very practical. The print was quite small, and with one dish per card, it took a long time to browse the options. When I asked for a regular menu, the staff kindly provided one, so thank you for that. I think there is room for improvement, but it’s still worth visiting and trying some of the other dishes. One more thing: the staff asked us to leave a review several times during our visit, which felt a little excessive. Nevertheless, here is my review. Meal type: Lunch Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Unfortunately, not the best experience. We ordered pilmeni beef, the dough was so thick and meat inside so dry, you could barely eat it, shuba was also not great, very dry, and macarrel substitute for herring gave a very not pleasant taste. The last meal was chicken shashlik and it was actually nice and juicy , but the cabbage salad was plain, no flavor, French fries also tasteless, overly dry from being frozen. Many options on the menu were sold out, lol and no vodka to make cocktails as it was also sold out. I would never go there again.
