Walking around the center of Turin as I usually do, I found myself at lunchtime needing to eat something quick but good. Walking along Via Garibaldi I thought for a moment and a thought fell on Soup & Go, a place I'd wanted to try for a long time. The entrance is inside a lovely courtyard which also serves as an outdoor area. Inside it is not huge, but very welcoming with several seats divided into two rooms. It is basically organized as a self-service, so by equipping yourself with a tray and cutlery you can scroll along the counter choosing what to eat. So what can we savor? If we want to stay light, it is possible to "build" your own ad hoc salad from a rich selection of ingredients. Alternatively or in addition there are savory pies, vegetarian lasagne and soups of the day. But still that's not enough, you can opt for a classic pizza which is never a bad choice. To finish off with sweets and juices at will. The drinks range from water to juices and from wine to beer, without displeasing anyone :) What did I choose? A nice slice of vegetarian cake and a pumpkin, speck and leek soup. And I didn't regret it. All very good, fresh and tasty. Finished it all off with a good coffee. The prices are excellent and there is also the possibility to choose between various menus offered which differ by the number of courses included. My average menu cost only 12 euros. The staff is young and very nice. The girl at the counter was very kind and cheerful. Compliments! There is no table service but there is no need. It's all well organised. Details worthy of note: unlimited croutons offered by the house to enrich the soups and blanket/hot water bottle available to those who, in winter, choose to eat outside. Small things that make the difference in the same way as a cuddle! I know I will want to go back to try the pizzas or have an aperitif with friends. I felt good, see you soon.
