*KEYNOTE* A key from Crawford & Sons upstairs is required. We were told you either buy one or receive one complimentary while dining there. Fortunately, a key holder let us in after seeing us struggle with the locked door After finally gaining entry downstairs, you'll enter a dimly lit speakeasy with about 10 seats at the bar top and what felt like 4 tables. Size and limited seating being the first noticeable factor (which somewhat explains the exclusivity). Some folks may need their phone to read the menus if you're not already seated at a table equipped with a little light. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table to open up and an additional 5 to receive our drinks. No one took our order so I held down the table while my fiance ordered at the bar... this kinda led to a bummer. Unfortunately, the seating near us was cramped between other patrons. My fiance was trying to maneuver around others into the bench side seating and accidentally nudge the table spilling a bit of her brim-filled cocktail. Spilling some of a $19 is never fun and we just asked the bar for a damp rag to clean it up - no inquiry or offer to help but at least I got the towel. We ordered the Tom Kha Margarita / $16 - Altos Blanco Tequila, Green Curry, Ginger, Togarashi salted rim & the Thai Tea Fizz / $19 Ford's, Thai Tea, Cream, Lemon, and Egg White I am a sucker for SE Asian inspired cocktails which both scratched the itch. The Tom Kha Marg had the presence of green curry but wasn't overpowering. The Thai Tea Fizz will be a perfect for anyone who enjoys Thai Tea as is. Somewhat thick, sweet, and foamy from the egg white. There's plenty to enjoy about Sous Terre's elevated SE Asian twist on classic cocktails. I'm not certain how much is costs to purchase a key, but aside from the key and/or JC&S meal: $19 a drink (plus 20% tip - $23) is a rather steep price for the experience - especially with setting, atmosphere, and service all considered. Price per person: $30–40 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Our waitress at Crawford & Son led us here after dinner, which was a fun experience and definitely achieved that ‘speakeasy’ vibe. The cocktail menu was inventive and I liked my Tom Kha Margarita - not too sweet and the curry flavor was subtle but present. I like my cocktails a tad bit funkier but there were lots of interesting options on the menu. Very cool spot! Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
