South Express opp Oasis Mall, was one of those places we ended up trying because my wife saw it on Instagram. To be fair, it wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t somewhere I’d go out of my way to revisit. We started with the pani puri (golgappa). It was above average, but nowhere near the level of places like 968 or Kesar. Good enough, but not memorable. The aloo tikki was the biggest disappointment for me. Being from Delhi, I have pretty high expectations when it comes to aloo tikki served in a patta. The tikki itself was decent, but the sweet curd completely overpowered the flavors and took away the balance that makes a great aloo tikki special. The cheese pav bhaji was not bad at all and was probably one of the better dishes we tried. As for the dahi bhalla, it tasted pretty much like what you’ll find at most similar places around town. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing exceptional either. One thing that stood out was that they added apples to it, which felt a bit unusual to me and isn’t something I typically expect in a dahi bhalla. Overall, South Express was a decent experience and it was nice to try somewhere new. The food was good enough, but there wasn’t anything that really stood out or made me want to come back specifically for it. This is for the branch located in Al khuwair near Oasis Mall. Tasty Poori, Sheera and tea. Good prices. Friendly service. Price per person: OMR 0–2 Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot, Free of charge street parking

Had a great experience at South Express! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the South Indian dishes which tasted authentic and fresh. The flavors were perfectly balanced and reminded me of home-style cooking. The service was quick and staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean, well-maintained, and had a nice comfortable atmosphere to enjoy a meal with family or friends. Overall, a wonderful place for anyone who loves South Indian cuisine. Definitely worth visiting again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
