We had such an amazing first experience at Southern National! (idk how we’ve never been here before). Gavin and Dalton made our lil evening so nice and were wonderful from start to finish. The drinks were also incredible, especially the Punch Royal, and On Top of the Hill, and every single one was so yum. Everything from the food/drinks to the service/atmosphere made for such a lovely evening. (we’ll 100% be back!) Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had never heard of Southern National. It just happened to pop up because we were in the area, and we’re glad we decided to give it a try. The first thing we noticed was how beautiful the restaurant is. The décor is gorgeous with an upscale feel, leather seating, and an intimate, dark, moody atmosphere that makes for a great dining experience. The host was pleasant, greeted us, seated us, and even brought our water while we waited for our server. Our waiter was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the meal. The only challenge was that he spoke so softly that we struggled to hear him. I found myself repeatedly saying, “I’m sorry, what did you say?” because everything was delivered in a whisper. His service was thoughtful, but the low volume made communication difficult. The food was visually stunning. Every dish looked beautifully plated and very appetizing. Unfortunately, the flavor didn’t match the presentation. Everything we ordered was noticeably under-seasoned. It wasn’t bad, but it lacked the seasoning needed to make the dishes memorable. The portions were also on the smaller side, just enough to leave feeling satisfied but not particularly full. As we were leaving, the same host who had greeted us was back at the podium. Unfortunately, there was no goodbye or thank you, which felt like a missed opportunity to end the experience on a warm note. Overall, Southern National offers a beautiful atmosphere and genuinely friendly service. With a little more seasoning in the kitchen and a bit more engagement at the end of the visit, it could easily become a place we’d be excited to return to. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $100+
