This is the best spot near Seng Wong Beo Temple. Try tasty chicken soup, chicken and sashimi. Here you can have good negroni.

went on a friday night and it was surprisingly quiet. bartenders were good energy and very friendly, i got a white russian thats off the menu, and i think it could be better (i’ve had lots of great white russians) was told that they would be moving to another location so best check before making a trip down. Price per person: $20–30 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Spectre Spectre would like you to know that it is many things. Apothecary-inspired. Wellness-adjacent. Community-minded. On a Friday night at 9pm, this community consisted of roughly five people, all of whom appeared to be minding their own business and hoping not to be recruited into anything. The room feels as though it was designed by several people who never met, then politely declined to compare notes. Dried French flowers droop from one corner of the ceiling. Empty picture frames elsewhere contain sheets of white butcher paper, presumably to encourage reflection. White Christmas lights are scattered along ledges with the enthusiasm of an afterthought. Behind the bar, a faint apothecary mood hums gently — while a nearby wall records a half-pint chugging leaderboard, ranked by seconds. Wellness, but make it competitive. The menu offers four signature cocktails. Four. This might suggest confidence if the bar itself seemed to know what it was doing. Drinks arrive without explanation or interaction, even when seated directly at the bar, as though curiosity were a personal failing best discouraged. One cocktail, LSD — a gin and yuzu situation — is served with kaleidoscope goggles that you are apparently meant to wear. No one explains why. The drink does not alter perception, consciousness, or mood, but the goggles do briefly make you wonder if this is part of a trust exercise. Behind the bar, kombucha mothers sit exposed and visibly starving, floating in jars with barely enough tea to justify their continued existence. Living culture reduced to décor. Wellness as prop. Self-care, but unattended. The only thing working consistently is the address. Perched in the elegance of Duxton Hill, the location does an enormous amount of heavy lifting — and quietly highlights how little is happening upstairs. Verdict: A perfect illustration of modern wellness culture: earnest language, decorative rituals, and absolutely no follow-through. Heavy on intention, light on substance, and faintly ridiculous in execution. Come for Duxton Hill. Skip the enlightenment. Drink elsewhere.
