I sincerely apologize for the surprise. All of our prices are listed on the our menu, but I understand that the costs may not have been what you expected. You are correct that a similar drink at Starbucks cost less. As a national chain, they are able to purchase ingredients and supplies at a much lower cost due to their buying power. As a small, locally owned business, our cost are significantly higher, which is reflected in our pricing. I would also like to clarify that it Spill The Beans, we only pull double shots of espresso. When an extra shot is added for $1.25, that charges for an additional double shot, not a single shot. There’s also an up charge for coconut milk, as alternative milks cost us more than traditional dairy options. Our cashier may not have explained that we only pulled double shots, and I apologize for any confusion that may have caused. When comparing the exact drink you ordered from us to the same drink at Starbucks with four shots of espresso and coconut milk, the difference comes out to approximately $.43. We truly appreciate your business and every customer who chooses to support us. However, I completely understand if another coffee shop is a better fit for your needs.
