If you happen to be near Marston House Museum, you can visit this restaurant. Do not delay your visit – seriously, the Mediterranean cuisine is waiting for you. You have a chance to degust unique doner kebabs, good sweet potato fries and fine French fries. This restaurant is known as a good place to drink fantastic white sangria, decent beer on tap and amazing craft cocktails. Spitz - Hillcrest is recommended for the friendly staff. In accordance with the reviewers' opinions, the service is awesome. Here you will pay nice prices. Perfect decor helps the clients relax. The superb atmosphere will be exactly just what you need after a hard working week. This place gained 5.0 of the Trip rating scale so you can have a nice time at this place.

Last New Year's Eve, we took a room and the concierge told us about Spitz, which was walking distance away, so we went. We had such a great evening (thanks to the very engaging bartender/restaurant manager) that we planned to all get together and go there again this year. Bummed to hear it's closed. Greg, if you see this, give us a shout out: If you are working somewhere else in the area, we would want to know. We got there at about 8 p.m. We were thinking we would order a bottle of wine and dinner and then come back to the hotel to ring in the New Year with our friends. Greg, the bartender, created these incredibly tasty cocktails ---- a different one for each of us ---- and we ended up talking and the whole place was just right. We ended up having dinner, enough drinks to ring in the New Year, and all of us swore we would all stay in touch & as I booked the rooms again for this year, I learned the restaurant closed. Totally bummed --- but again, kudo's to Spitz & very especially to Greg the bartender from England, who made a great drink, made us all feel at home, and we didn't even realize we were there for hours & hours. Worth every penny & just sad we won't get to see him and do this again. Great service, unusual, fresh & tasty food and cocktails ----- RIP Spitz. Greg, if you're still working San Diego, we'd be interested in following you to wherever you are now.
