I struggled with the score here as overall I love this place. It is quiet, quaint, peaceful, beautiful country side and the food was fantastic. Nothing needs to change except the room maintenance and cleaning. The rooms were the biggest let down. We had booked a number of rooms, some were a bit better than others, but overall they all need to be addressed. Don't get me wrong, they were an excellent size, well laid out, private, great view out on the patio overlooking the pool or go out the other door overlooking the vineyard and kangaroos along with the beautiful big tree out the front. However, the rooms are on the older side and that is ok if they are maintained and clean. Unfortunately the rooms had big gaps around the perimeter of the wall and ceiling, looked terrible and dirty, may have had water damage. A lot of bugs and spiders had made a home all along the perimeter which went right over your head in bed. I get in Australia we have bugs and spiders, but we also have pest controllers that can fix/reduce it and it can be cleaned by cleaners before your stay. But what topped it off which is why a low score for the room is I came home late one night and found maggots covering the lamp and bedside table. They looked like they had dropped from inside the gapping crack that was over my bed... which it just missed. I was so glad we left early that next morning, unfortunately this spoiled the stay for me. I would love to go back and stay there as everything else is great, just not the lack of maintenance and cleanliness of the gapping cracks and bugs... especially as it is above your head while sleeping. Please fix this up so we can stay there again! Service: 4

Don't get me wrong it's a lovely spot but not exactly value for money. The rooms are well kept but aged, pool not heated, reception meant to be open 8-8 but from my experience closes early most of the time. Staff are friendly if a bit distracted. The breakfast menu is a bit niche so ask for what you'd like if you're not keen on any of the menu options. They have a few vines out the front and sad pig out the back. I'd go back to the restaurant for dinner perhaps but wouldn't stay again. I found it more like a posh motel than a decent hotel. Service: 3

Wow, what a fantastic experience at Spicers Vineyards Estates! I came here with my partner to celebrate his birthday and the incredible team at Spicers did whatever they could to make our experience special. The staff were so kind, welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The property and room were fantastic too. The best place for a quiet recharge away from the city. For us, the real star of the show was the wonderful team behind it all. I’ll definitely be staying with Spicers again in the future. Thank you for everything team
