We have been here many times for various events and the food and service is always excellent. Lucian took very good care of us recently for our parents anniversary. This is a great local spot and good for parties of all sizes. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $90–100

Brought my (food-particular) dad here to try Italian for the first time and he enjoyed it. Everything tasted fresh and just right, not too salty. My dad enjoyed the arancini and pizza the most. The staff was professional, attentive to us, and was good with our kids. We forgot a colouring book and one of the staff came out to our car to give it to us. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $30–40

I stopped at Sapore by Zafferano for dinner while staying at a nearby hotel. I was dining alone and arrived around 5:45 PM, when the restaurant was still very quiet. I was seated at a table near the bar, which apparently was being handled that evening by the restaurant manager—a bald, husky gentleman wearing glasses. Unfortunately, I never got his name because, quite frankly, he rarely came to my table. He took my initial drink order—a Coke and water—and that was essentially the last attention I received from him. Both drinks were empty well before I finished my salad. I even pushed my empty water glass toward the edge of the table so it would be clearly visible. The manager walked directly past my table at least four times and never stopped, acknowledged the empty glasses, or asked how my meal was going. After finishing my salad and both drinks, I sat with an empty table for another five minutes or so without acknowledgment. Meanwhile, the manager seemed much more interested in glad-handing and chatting with a couple of regulars who came through the bar area. The frustrating part is that the food was excellent. The Mediterranean salad was crisp, fresh, and delicious, with a fantastic dressing. My entrée—the wild mushroom stuffed ravioli with pistachio crust—was outstanding. The sauce was creamy and delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Then there was Luciano. Luciano was handling tables in the main dining room but brought my entrée to me, and the difference in service was immediate. He presented the dish with professionalism and style, offered freshly grated Parmesan and ground pepper, and later came back to ask how everything was. I specifically asked his name because I wanted him to know how much I appreciated his professionalism and courtesy. He told me he has been waiting tables for more than 30 years, and it shows. He was gracious, polished, attentive, and clearly takes tremendous pride in what he does. Unfortunately, excellent food and an outstanding professional like Luciano were overshadowed by very poor service from the person who was supposed to be managing the restaurant. If you go, the food is absolutely worth trying, and I strongly recommend asking for Luciano—you'll be in very good hands. For me, however, the manager's lack of attention ruined what should have been an excellent dinner. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. The food left a great taste in my mouth; the management did not. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50
