This bar provides you with nice food and a place to rest after a long walk around St Michael's Church. Don't miss the opportunity to try good whiskey. Cheerful staff members welcome people all year round. But Stamford Plaza Melbourne has been rated below average by Google.

Stayed here for 2 nights (Jan 8th and 9th). Pros: - Allowed me to check-in around 4 hours early, pouring rain outside and came straight from airport. Found this very helpful and also got upgraded to a king suite - Amazing room, great size and layout. Two big flat screen TVs, great bed and pillows, spa bath, Gold fittings everywhere (somewhat worn though). - Never had to wait long for the lift. - Spa and pool are very good, appreciated being able to watch the tennis on the big TV literally a metre from the spa - very cool . Didn't use gym or sauna but both seemed adequate, despite not overly big. - Decent kitchen facilities. - Good location Cons: - Massive Christmas tree still in lobby over two weeks after Christmas. - Hotel is a tad run down but not to the extent that it impacted my stay negatively. - Spa bath in room very noisy and jets not particularly powerful. - Alarm clock on bedside table not plugged in, nowhere for it to plug in to. Literally a powered alarm clock with no power to run it. I had seen the poor reviews prior to my stay and that had me concerned. Thankfully my experience here was a good one and it lived up to what a 5 star hotel should be Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury

Pros: Comfortable queen bed. Great location. Cons: Rooms last renovated in the early 1900’s at least that’s the feel. Absolutely pitiful breakfast. Noisy beyond belief due to construction next door. TV’s not working in suite on the second night. One TV control between three rooms, not sure which genius thought running between the rooms to change channels was a great idea, but you should fire the person seriously. Dark rooms with no views whatsoever. Staring at brick walls even on the 15th floor. This is in NO WAY this is 5*. I would say 2* at BEST. Would we come back - definitely a NO. Would we recommend a stay here? Definitely NO. Rooms: 2 Service: 2 Location: 5

We have truly enjoyed our stay at the Stamford Plaza Melbourne hotel this week. The hotel room was very clean and well-maintained. There are some renovations happening around the hotel at the moment, which is great to see that they are continuously improving the facilities. There was no discomfort from any off the refurbishment activities. The staff members were helpful and friendly. Thank you!
