this place is amazing! $84 for perfectly cooked Steak sirloin (came with mashed potatoes and green beans) cappuccino (at least 2 cups worth) apple fritter w/ ice cream (more than enough for 2 people) 8 Onion rings sprinkled with parmesean 4 Chicken Tenderloins w/ fries and coleslaw ($15 is a bit expensive, but it was incredibly juicy) Nicole was an attentive server, she made sure to come pick up empty dishes if she had seen them set off to the side. She was also very nice :) Yelp sites this place as closed, but it is in fact open!

First of all, let me say that some of what I ordered at this restaurant to be quite delicious. They make very nice ribs, for example. As I think over my experience with this establishment, it is because of the ribs that I let myself be treated so disrespectfully a couple of times. Basically, there seems to be two kinds of customers from the staff's point of view. Those they want and those they don't. If you are a member of the first group, then the staff will fawn over you, chat you up. Nate, one of the waiters, can be a real sweetheart when he wants to be. But if you are a member of the second group, then good luck getting any good service. After a couple of times, I thought perhaps it was me. Do I have bad breath? Do I stink? I am Caucasian as are they, so I don't suspect racism. I have on clean, decent clothes and I'm wearing shoes. I also tip very well. But nothing I did improved the way I was treated. No matter who my server was, I started to realize I was being treated very rudely and impolitely. So I allowed myself to feel a little bad about myself and started having my lunches at the Corner Tavern instead (a great place)! Then one day I saw a party of three women coming out of Stanford's. They were all cleanly, attractively dress women. One was young, one middle aged, and one quite senior. As I was walking by I could hear their exacerbated tone as they tried to process why they were being treated so poorly. One of them was saying, "With all the trouble parking here and all the construction, you would think they would try and keep customers. What was that about?" I decided to walk over and share my experience. They were very grateful for that because they, too, were standing on the curb wondering what they had done wrong. So if you decide to go here, and you get treated badly, please do not doubt yourself. You don't have BO. Your clothes don't stink. Simply put, they are complete jerks and I won't give them a dime more of my money. And if you are treated well, good for you. Enjoy the ribs but know that your money is going to support people who show tremendous unkindness to others. I do not recommend Stanford's Restaurant & Bar.
