Fresh complimentary bread, very tasty and tender carpaccio and amazing orrechiete. We arrived few minutes after opening and we didn’t need reservation. It’s not a very crowded place. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30

We visited Stano on our 1 night stay in Matera and ordered the mutton stew which was phenomenal, everything else was average. However, our experience with the service was below average, perhaps because the waiter was given a large section with no help at all and couldn't keep up with all the tables it seems. But we have also noticed that if the table had Italian tourists, they got a better service/treatment than us or other tables with foreign tourists, even when the waiter was overwhelmed. This unfortunately kind of made the experience underwhelming and upsetting. Nonetheless, if you do visit, the mutton stew is a must! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €60–70
