If you're reading this review for insight because you aren't familiar with this franchise, then let me give you something to think about: ask yourself, would you walk into a place whose mascot is an abstract green and white logo of a mermaid holding her sea legs open to seduce you? If you dont know the mythology of sirens, they were beautiful mermaid-like females that lured sailors with their songs and exotic looks before seducing and killing them for food. While you most likely will not be in any sort of danger at Starbucks, the symbol is fitting. Theres one on every block in every major city luring you to the long lines of people standing outside the door, charging you an arm and a leg for burnt coffee mixed with all kinds of unhealthy sugars and flavorings (which some drinks are more caloric than a big mac) inside of a freezing cold atmosphere with hard chairs that remind me of an old school setting. Overall, its a business model vs an open invitation from a mom and pop shop. Its quantity versus quality. Ever notice theres only ever 4 comfy chairs and theyre always taken? That's because the business model is to get people in and out as quick as possible. The hard chairs and cold environment are intentional to discourage people from staying and relaxing, unless of course its hot outside. Next time you are craving a coffee, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Stop giving a billion-dollar corporation money and support a local business instead. Most places offer the same lattes, cappuccinos, etc as siren bucks, but I guarantee you will find something seasonal or special on the menu that you can not get at spend bucks. By reading this, you've unlocked the door. I hope you open and go through it. Maybe you'll return or maybe you'll realize the door was actually to a cage and now you are free to experience what coffee is supposed taste like and how it was meant to bring people together over conversation, not push you out the door back into the routine. I came in today and placed the order for an egg bite and a grande Matcha grande and I had to wait 20 minutes on top of me ordering that is absolutely ridiculous. That is too long of a wait for a grande drink. It’s not even a full drink, I had multiple people come in after me getting their drinks before I have even got mine taken care of. I had to remind the barista’s behind the counter that I have a grande Matcha drink like no one updated me letting me know how long the wait is or anything of that that’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m about to start going to a whole different Starbucks if I have to continue having to wait 20+ minutes for a drink and the egg bite that’s ridiculous. Service: 1
