after searching restaurants in area near me came across this little “gem of a nightmare “ .Husband and I anxious about finding a new weekend breakfast spot as it’s something we’ve done together religiously for years, our regular spot recently closed due to retirement . Apon arrival We find parking in this raggedy place the grass hasn’t been mowed in a year no joke i was afraid of stepping out into snakes it was no exaggeration clear up to my knees, find the entrance when u walk into the front door your walking into what looks as the entrance to the restrooms the two doors wide open two toilets face you to the left side and look forward another door leads into dining area and everyone is Sitting on top of one another, definitely can pass the salt to the table’s around you without much leaning lol (extremely uncomfortable ..limited space) we waited directly infront of cash register in sight of the only 2 woman working and 1 cook ,1 waitresses, and 1 lady(possibly owner) needless to say they definitely have been a good d dadsŽ acknowledged our presence as the other made eye contact with us afew times as to apologize for waiting (again not a problem waiting) we were only ones waiting for about 15 of 25 min we did. Then another bigger group walked in kinda pushed up to the side and went as in middle of the dinning area over the other customers eating ‍ . Well within 5min of them doing that a group of 4-5 was getting up to leave my husband and I are starved exhausted and extremely excited to sit and eat knowing were next … ha! What a joke the waitress Blatantly said to bigger group you guys go on over well get that cleaned right up, i said excuse me but we were next . She acted like i was wrong with saying something to her and was about to jack the table from the people she just told to go sit down . It was clear she choose the bigger group (over a 2 seater, even though we waited for 25min ) I couldn’t do that and allow her to jack there table we decided to walk out. We felt very unwelcome at this point! I do however want to say I actually am grateful for this opportunity we found the most amazing breakfast place in citrus co (The Biscuit Barn ) they’re absolutely amazing and packed but have the best waitresses and service… i will definitely not step foot back where i feel unwelcome and unnecessary.

The Starting Gate Restaurant officially closed May 29th, 2022.There are Tenants leasing the building only and operating under their own restaurant name.The Starting Gate Restaurant business no longer exists.Thank you
