My recent experience in the Step Inn was very unsatisfactory and uncomfortable. The host, Sarah, was very rude and dismissive. I didn’t have a reservation and asked could I be seated for a main course. The restraunt was full but she said she could seat me at a table for 2 to the right of the main desk. I agreed and was brought to the table and placed my order. Over the next few minutes I realised I was seated outside the doors to the kitchen. It was very busy and resembled Dublin airport. I spoke to Sarah and outlined my discomfort and she replied “ I don’t normally put people there and if I knew you had a problem, I would have moved you”. Can honestly say that the Sandyford House or the Golden Ball deliver serious customer service, perhaps the Step Inn new owners will pay attention. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50–60

Staff were friendly but the service was slow. The food portion for chicken wings was small for the price charged. Had a bottle of wine recommended by restaurant manager but for €38.50 it was bad value and I have had better for €10 less. We won’t return as the Sandyford House offers better value for less.
