The menu of Australian cuisine under the direction of the great chef is wonderful here. You can always enjoy perfectly cooked croquettes, ribs and gnocchi at this cafe. Good wine is worth a try here.

To start, we ordered the Chermoula charred lamb ribs with sticky PX sauce and lime. They were cooked well, with lamb falling off the bone, and full of flavour. Between us, we ordered a few different mains: Pan fried gnocchi with heirloom tomatoes, Persian feta, peas and soured peppers; Cone Bay barramundi with caramelised onion and Persian feta, and Smoked roast half chicken cooked in the Inka charcoal oven with pineapple, chilli, burnt lime and labne. Totally engrossed in debriefing the film, we weren’t paying much attention as we chomped away at our meal, until someone stopped and commented on the deliciousness of the food. Every dish was bursting with flavour, and satisfied the craving for good quality, honest food. The wine list is quite extensive and covers lots of regions.
South Central is an all-day eatery with some interesting 'morning eat' choices if you’re game to steer away from the traditional poached eggs and muesli.
Overall, this is a welcome addition to South Yarra and locals would be happy to have a cafe/restaurant that offers great, tasty food. It appears they have managed to get the simple things right, and that is a lot tougher then it seems. I’m sure the upstairs apartment goers are stoked having this eatery just a stone's throw away. I’m looking forward to coming back.
