I have been to sticky rice twice now. The first time we enjoyed the tom kha but thought the pad Thai was terrible. It took us two years to come back after a sub par experience and wow the food was such a disappointment. We ordered the laab which was dry, had no flavor, didn’t have the toasted ground rice and didn’t come with lettuce to make the signature wrap. The pad see ew was yellow?! And didn’t have much of any flavor. Then we got a veggie stir fry which was fine. The satay was also okay but the chicken was dry, seemingly unmarinated and didn’t come on a skewer and also was huge pieces but hard to eat without the skewer and not served with knives. The service however was friendly and attentive. I have been to Thailand multiple times and grew up in Seattle that has a big Thai community and I feel strongly this place should redo their recipes to honor the flavorful and bold food of the country they are supposedly representing. Sticky Rice - Downtown offers authentic Thai cuisine with bold flavors and fresh ingredients. Known for dishes like Pad Thai and flavorful curries, it’s a favorite for those craving genuine Thai food. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for quick lunches or relaxed dinners. Service is friendly and efficient. Overall, a solid choice for tasty, well-prepared Thai in a convenient downtown location.
