I drive an hour for the coconut cake often. But the entire menu is tight and well thought out. Seasonal, appropriate, and everything kissed with the aroma of the wood fired oven. Eating at Stissing house is like stepping back in time, but it is t at the same time. Because no food or drink in the 1700s was as good as what they serve there now. This is such a special restaurant. Been meaning to visit for a while, but it's an hour drive from my house. Yesterday, on a whim, my husband and I decided to make a dinner reservation. And I'm so glad we did. What a fantastic experience, start to finish! We shared 1 snack, 4 appetizers, 1 entree, and 2 desserts. Every single thing was beautifully presented and beyond delicious. The chef is truly celebrating the bounty of the Hudson Valley, and she knows what to do with fresh vegetables. My god. Besides the food being excellent, our server Simon was so knowledgeable about the menu and extremely friendly. Service was absolutely perfect, and the ambience is warm and inviting. Even though this place is a 2 hour roundtrip drive for us, we'll certainly be back on a regular basis. Well worth it, and we cannot wait to return. This place is making magic!
