After camping near the Port Sanilac area for many years and passing by the Stone Lodge on our way, my mother and I decided to give the restaurant a try for dinner. I am very glad we did. The atmosphere was cozy and the interior decor was very fitting for a restaurant up north. The service was fantastic. Every server and other members of the staff were very professional and looked like they enjoyed their jobs. We had the steak bites for an appetizer. I had never seen an appetizer like this anywhere else, and it was amazing. Juicy steak covered in provolone cheese set on top of garlic bread with au jus for dipping. My mother had a build your own burger which was very tasty. I had very tender and delicious ribs. My only issue with the food was the mashed potatoes were pretty bland and needed every bit of gravy on them for any type of flavor. Otherwise, we had an excellent experience at the restaurant and would go again. Highly recommend this place. Excellent food and service! We credit the manager Hilary Laurita for coordinating our motorhome group of 50 customers during their busy antique boat and rv show. From setting up a special menu for our group and making sure that every table was quickly served, we applaud her!! The food is worth driving to from a distance and don't miss the Sanilac County Historical Village & Museum just down the street from the restaurant. We'll be back! Northern Lights FMCA RV Group
