Stonefields Public House is a great neighbourhood spot, and we were really pleased with the roast specials. We tried both the chicken and the pork, and it was a genuinely good deal for the quality. If you are looking for a hearty and reasonably priced meal, this is a solid place to stop by. The standards have dropped.
Server explained there was no beef to make my fav Beef & Guinnes Pie.
After we received our mains, no body approached us at all.
One of our party went to the bar asking for the dessert menu, that still did not prompt a server to ask us if we wanted to order desert or would like another drink.
I wasn't busy and now we know why, shame as it was a nice place once.
Doubt we will ever return.

Unfortunately, our experience today was not a good one. We've been here several times before and have never had any issues. However, today the food that we were served was terrible (Sunday roast) and the meat was more like beef skirt and was exceptionally tough with lots of gristle, and frankly, it was unedible. We asked for steak knives to cut through the chewy meat, and left most of it on the plste. The Yorkshire puddings were also tough and chewy as if they had been over microwaved. As for the roast veggies, they were boiled then probably heated up in a pan and were served under cooked and cold in the middle. On a brighter note, the beer and glass of wine tasted good.
