Starting this with: I hope head office does something about this I honestly don’t even know where to begin, but this Subway location inside the UofA HUB has gone completely downhill, and it’s incredibly disappointing as someone who used to be a regular customer. I used to come here multiple times a week (4+ times) because it was convenient, quick, and the service used to be great. There was a staff member (I believe he may have been a manager before) who ran things really well—everything was efficient, respectful, and the food quality was consistently good. Ever since the newer staff started working here, the entire experience has taken a noticeable decline. The biggest issue is the attitude from employees, especially when customers make completely reasonable requests. For example, I often order veggie subs, and like any standard food safety practice, I politely ask for gloves to be changed before handling my order. This is a very normal and valid request, especially when cross-contamination is a concern. Instead of being understanding, I’m consistently met with visible annoyance, attitude, and disrespect, as if I’m asking for something unreasonable—which I’m not. As someone who has worked in the food industry for over 5 years, I can confidently say that this is not how customers should be treated. Basic requests like glove changes or asking for sauce on the side should be handled professionally. That’s literally part of the job. Customers are the reason the business exists, and showing attitude over small accommodations is unacceptable. Another ongoing issue is the lack of proper supplies. For months now, they haven’t had sauce lids available. This might sound minor, but it’s actually very inconvenient for customers—especially when ordering items like chipotle sauce on the side with potato rings. Instead of fixing the issue, it’s just been ignored, and customers are expected to deal with it. Today was honestly the last straw. Ever since the previous staff member (who I believe may have been a manager, indian man (he was great)) stopped working here, the entire experience has gone downhill, and today really confirmed that. I came in expecting the same basic level of service any paying customer should receive, and instead I was met with extremely rude behavior. One of the staff members( the indian lady with fair skin) was especially disrespectful and made several unnecessary comments toward me simply because I forgot to order my potato rings at the same time as my sub. I calmly said I was more than willing to wait the extra couple of minutes, as I understand they take additional time, but despite that, the attitude continued throughout the interaction. There was no courtesy or effort to be accommodating—just a dismissive and unpleasant tone that made the entire experience frustrating and uncomfortable. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I am writing to bring to your attention a very concerning experience I had at the Subway location in the University of Alberta HUB Mall. During my visit, the employee working at the till (an Indian woman with a fair complexion) was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was yelling at customers without clear reason, speaking in a loud and aggressive tone, and openly complaining about the line in front of everyone. The overall environment felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. This kind of behavior is not what customers expect from Subway, and it significantly impacted my experience. I believe customer service should be respectful and professional, regardless of how busy the location may be. I hope this matter can be addressed appropriately so that future customers do not have a similar experience. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
