Options for Celiacs/Gluten Free - I don't know if it is widespread yet, but luckily the Subway in Gilmer has gluten free bread. It is sealed in its own package. I asked about it and the server even asked if it was for diet or allergy. This is a good sign. Thank you Gilmer Subway employees and management for knowing about this. This has been tough and it has been nice to find at least one place that will work with me on this. This location even has a sheet of paper to the right of where you first order that lists all gluten free items. Very handy. Thanks again!******

The rest of this review will be personal. I would put this info in my Bio, but the Bio is limited to 140 characters. I hope Zomato will not delete this in case someone else is experiencing similar problems and this might help them. I have had gastro related problems for 20+ years now. Hard to believe. For a long time I was steered towards Lactose Intolerance. Even when I seemed to avoid dairy, I still seemed to have problems. In recent years, I started hearing about Gluten and Celiac Disease. I finally asked my doctor if I could have a Celiac blood test. He responded a little rudely and said something like, "Oh, have you recently lost weight?" I said no. Only later did I think that back when this started bothering me 20 years ago that I did lose weight around that time. Long story short, I did test positive. So now I must eat Gluten Free. This is easier to do in theory, there are a lot more options than in the past. But it goes further. One with Celiac does not only eat Gluten Free, but their food cannot even be prepared with food that has gluten. You can't take a knife and cut a piece of bread with gluten and then use the same knife when preparing gluten free food for someone with Celiac. So that makes it tough. Basically, I cannot eat out anywhere. To be certain that I could eat somewhere, I would not have to only order gluten free items, but then I would have to talk to a manger or the cook to find out if they are prepared separately - different grill, different gloves, etc. I don't want to make a spectacle of myself. I don't like drawing attention to myself, but I love finding new restaurants and trying new foods. That is why I have spent as much time as I have here. I've enjoyed reading the other Reviews, especially those that I Follow and that Review East Texas, specifically Gilmer, Longview and Tyler. So I probably will be unable to do many new Reviews. La Finca even opened their new restaurant and it's killing me that I cannot go there. Aaaarrgggghhh!!! Can I even go to family reunions, ask a girl on a date (by the way, I can't take you to any restaurant)? This is new. Maybe it will turn out to be something else and I will be free to eat as I please again.
