This underrated 末貞 in Takeo is a third‑generation sushi restaurant, which has opened for over 100 years at the same place, by the grand-father of current master. The atmosphere is deeply traditional and the sushi master is highly professional, preserving time‑honored techniques while serving excellent food at bargain prices. We feel like there were so much effort and attention in every single piece of food being served. The simple food would tell the difference: bean curd sushi is second to none — well stuffed, flavorful, and memorable. The chef kindly prepared off‑menu vegetarian tempura for me since I don’t eat meat, which was thoughtful and delicious. I also got the impression the master’s wife speaks pretty good English, which made communication easier despite my very limited Japanese. Thanks for the meal! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Maybe I was hungry, but the food here (I ordered sashimi combo) was incredibly delicious. Exactly the old & traditional but clean place I was looking for. It is operated by a local couple and they have put out a friendly notice that everything is made after they are ordered, so no premade food thankfully, customers need to be a little patient, which is fine with me. I was the only one there so there’s not much wait at all. Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
