I have been going to this pub for over a decade, and watched all of the England World Cup games here. Saw that the next game was ticket only, so popped in for a pint and to get a ticket. The manager abruptly said ‘it’s regulars only’ and walked off mid conversation. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. Just because the new manager doesn’t know me I now can’t watch the next match, that’s disgraceful. I will never spend another penny in this place, disgusting service to customers that have been drinking here years. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Dear Craig We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed by your experience. If you had been coming into the pub over the last 14 weeks since we’ve been here, there would have been no issue at all getting a ticket. As for my response, if it came across as abrupt, I sincerely apologise. I can only imagine I was dealing with something else at that particular moment, but that is no excuse if it made you feel unwelcome. Please feel free to pop in and have a chat with me, as I’d be happy to discuss it further. I can assure you that we have the utmost respect for all of our customers and value them greatly. The decision to make this particular match ticket only for our regulars was not made lightly. Following a recent incident at another local pub where a customer was injured after a late-night football match, my priority has been to do everything possible to protect both our staff and our customers. Restricting entry to our regular customers for this event was purely a safety measure and was never intended to offend or exclude anyone personally. I genuinely hope you can understand the reasoning behind the decision, and I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you in person. Thank you for your time Rod

I recently visited my local pub and had a great experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door. Service was quick and attentive without ever feeling overbearing. The atmosphere is one of the pub’s biggest strengths — warm, lively, and perfect whether you’re catching up with friends or just enjoying a quiet drink. There’s a real sense of community, and it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to regularly. Overall, a fantastic local spot with great people and an even better vibe. Highly recommended. Price per person: £1–10
