Best ice cream in Yellowknife! Parking: Parking lot is small with room for 3-4 vehicles only. Otherwise, it's free street parking out front. Better to park elsewhere and walk over the causeway. Kid-friendliness: Play area with toys and colouring books. Wheelchair accessibility: A large log cabin with a wheelchair ramp in front. I had heard wonderful things about sundog trading post. It was my first time visiting and wasn't wholly sure about how the place ran. They have menus as if there are waitstaff, but you have to order at the counter and take a number for the table. I got the moqueca, beet salad, a cinnamon bun, and a tea. Once I figured out how the place worked, I ordered and found a seat. The size of the tea was super tiny. A nice big cup to match the tea bag would have been nicer, so it wasn't so overpowering. The food came quickly from the kitchen, and it was warm and the ingredients fresh. It came with a fresh piece of foccacia, and it was delicious dipped in the soup. The beet salad was pretty darn good too. Cinnamon bun was delicious and moist and paired perfectly with the tea. A little explanation from the counter staff or even a sign on how things work would have been appreciated, for cutting down on me running to find my own napskins, cutlery, and water, and eventually the cinnamon bun. I'll be back and likely enjoy the experience more. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CA$10–20 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Soup, Salad
