I play in a Wed league and I will say this course is in Horrendous shape and I wish I could blame it on the rain but we can’t. The course has more weeds in the rough and parts of the fairway than regular grass. The owner won’t even use any type of weed control to maintain the course. Greens are all bumpy patches everywhere. I don’t know where to begin in regards to the tee boxes. Uneven everywhere, can’t even get a square stance anywhere on any tee box. All they have to do is put some dirt down even them out and put some seed. I could good go on and on but I won’t. Same problems at Owasco and Lyndon. Sunset could be a great course but the mgt unfortunately do not care. I may have been a bit harsh on the weeds on the course. I told the owner I would revise my review in that regard. In his defense we have received an abundance of rain of recent which may have prevented the spreading of weed control however I’ve played Raddison, Foxfire and Camillus and they have almost no weeds. Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we appreciate any constructive input from our golfers, we must respectfully disagree with the assertion that ownership does not care about the condition of Sunset Ridge, Owasco or Lyndon. All three courses are well respected and well supported by the golf communities they serve. Played the front 9 at Sunset Ridge yesterday afternoon and it was in very, very good shape now that our mowers are getting into the areas previously too wet to enter. Greens were almost completely recovered from spring aeration now that they are seeing sun and heat. Early season sprays of fertilizer, weed control and other essential chemicals are starting to take effect as well. Recovery from allowing our leagues and members to take carts out into the wet conditions, rather than delay the start of the league season by several weeks was a calculated risk. We managed the traffic with ropes as best we could. Unfortunately not all of our league players stay on the paths or in the fairways as asked, do not fix pitch marks as asked and do not repair divots as asked so our efforts to recover always take longer. All that being said rest assured that the grass on the courses is resilient as our we and our grounds teams. A little patience and you will see the results. Our maintenance crew is working incredibly hard to recover from the wettest spring in our time of owning the properties and we fully back their efforts. We value our league members and ask for your patience and constructive support as team continues to move the courses forward. All that being said rest assured that the grass on the courses is resilient as our we and our grounds teams. A little patience and you will see the results. Alternatively if you would like a refund for the remaining league schedule please ask in the golf shop and we will gladly accomodate.

Nice course. Greens are typically fast, and give optical illusions. Everything breaks to the village.

Absolutely horrible experience showed up, obviously no teatime they weren’t taking teetimes which is understandable it’s early in the season, but they let out every single human being in the county to play With no organization whatsoever. The rude shack girl Told us we could go off the back as long as nobody was coming up so we waited for the group to go ahead. We teed off there were two other guys that were just teen off on nine and they came up behind us after going inside and grabbing the rat girl to come out and make sure we didn’t jump them as we were waiting for them to just simply come up and play through. She comes up and ask those guys if anything’s wrong when she literally told us to go off the back. We finish our nine and come up to the front Just To find 10 groups Waiting in line. So I go in and ask if we can just get a partial refund or a rain check for nine and she said no we don’t give them due to slow play. But they allow 70 groups off at once lol Place is a mess won’t Be back.

Kyle, thank you for sharing your perspective. For the benefit of people reading your review who might try to make a similar decision and request on busy day we would like to clarify the details of your day here; We were one of the only courses in the area open with carts after a week of rain, and as a result, we hosted over 200 other golfers who were all very patient and appreciative of being able to play on carts. Our staff offered you the option to start on the back nine as a courtesy, but they did advise that it would likely result in a much longer wait than simply waiting behind the players who were on the first tee at the time you checked in. Choosing to bypass that short line is what ultimately led to your delay. During our early-season "no tee time" period, the system works best when everyone patiently waits their turn in line so the flow remains consistent for everyone.
