This place is amazing. I'm a wicked sushi snob and this place is definitely up there with some of THE best I've ever tried! The inside part is really cool looking, but if you can get a spot outside it's even better. You're right there overlooking the water - it's great. The service was spectacular - at least when I went, and the food is just SO good and so many options for sushi. Definitely a must try if you're in the Portsmouth area.

I visited Surf Sushi Bar for the first time tonight - my daughter is a regular and loves it! We started with an appetizer of vegetable tempura -- it came out hot and very tasty. Time for dinner:  I'm not a big fan of the "raw" fish but there were other options.  I opted for the Torched Beef. It was delicious. The ingredients were amazing:  Sirloin, Brown Rice, Sweet Potato, Marinated Mushroom, Cream Cheese, Scallion & Sesame With Maple Tamari Reduction. Dessert consisted of Banana Split Sushi:  a chocolate crepe rolled and filled with bananas and strawberry, topped with caramel and whipped cream. A wonderful end to a great experience. Our waitstaff was great -- very attentive and informative. Even non-sushi lovers will find options. Quality of the food is a "10"!

The food was exceptional! My husband and I really loved what we ordered. My husband got sushi, tuna rolls etc.... I got a salad and a tofu dish that were just out of this world!  For a weeknight it is fantastic. I regretted going on a weekend because it really lacks atmosphere or a scene and I really enjoy a fun atmosphere on a Saturday night. We loved our meals so much tho that we wanted to go back the next night but they were closed.
