We drank some nice wine on the spot. Now bought wine to serve with food and bad experience. The wine was way too expensive (20€) for the quality. The bottles of red wine (Il Rosso di Cesare) were just not tasty. Shame.

Surlie is the best wine bar in Leuven, BY FAR. This unassuming, whole-in-the-wall gem serves luscious natural Italian wines, along with delectible snacks for the perfect pairing. Marc, the brains and brawn behind Surlie can explain, down to the minutest of details, how each bottle is carefully crafted from soil to grape to glass. Surlie also attracts a vibrantly diverse crowd of people, many of whom arrive as strangers and leave as friends. It is a place not to be missed.
