I was making my way from Paragould to St. Louis via Corning one Sunday morning, early, having left the place of my birth without a proper breakfast. Whilst dreading my date with the Clown or the King in Corning, I caught the old-school neon "OPEN" sign of Susan's Family Restaurant out of the corner of my eye. A couple of turns around the block put me right back in front of the restaurant. It is everything you'd expect from a seen-too-seldom downtown small town cafe. Everything's fresh, made right then and there, from foodstuffs purchased at the local grocer. If you're headed through Corning, and just need to stop for a quick bite, this is your place. FYI -- it won't kill you to leave a good tip. $3 on a bill that didn't surpass $6 -- it's worth it just to avoid dining with the Clown.
