Both The River at Rancho Mirage and Sushi Kawa are recommended for visiting. Degust nicely cooked salmon rolls, salmon nigiri and albacore at this restaurant. To taste good ice cream is a truly good idea. You will be offered great tea.

It's easy to find Sushi Kawa due to the convenient location. The attentive staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. Reasonable prices at this place are good news for its guests. You will certainly appreciate the comfortable atmosphere and beautiful decor. This spot scored 4.6 in the Google rating system.

Ordered Toro, chu toro and maguro. Awful. I spat it out and left without finishing. There were hardfat cuts so rubbery to chew it gave me a gag reflex. The fish lacked any flavor requiring the chef to garnish it with dill and sesame and furikake. Even the maguro I had to dip into the salad sesame dressing to give it taste. The chef knew it's bad fish and left to the back after serving it to me and never came back out. I paid the 60$ and left. My mistake. Don't believe the pictures or reviews of palm springs tourists /locals. There's no good sushi in the desert. Response to owners response: Sure. So expensive and so good that you had to disguise the flavor with dill and furikake? And what about the maguro, you admit it is C grade? You buy the worst cut and serve it with the thick hard chewy part of the toro it's like eating rubber tires. Oh it may have been dry aged toro? This is shopping mall quality sushi for tourists Thanks for understanding. Price per person: $50–100 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Your photo showing fresh and high quality toro. That toro is $58 per lb ..top of the market. Most other sushi bar use $15-20 per lb toro. You can show your photo to Other skilled chef..very skilled chef cuz lot of them only have low quantity toro experience.

Let me tell you three things my wife and I enjoyed about Sushi Kawa: 1) The yellowtail roll. It was a good combo of filling and spicy. 2) Our service. We sat away from the center but our server did a great job of making us the center of his universe. 3) Our server and all servers were wearing sailors hats. I don’t know why. I’ve always wanted to be a part of an inside joke. I enjoyed it.
