I’ve eaten at sushi on jones’ old location in the Bowery as well as their restaurant in LES. Personally I enjoyed the Bowery location the most so when it closed it was shocking to me. I went to this location last Thursday for dinner and it was great. I had ordered a la carte and while all the food was spectacular I loved the salmon crispy rice. The perfect blend of soft fish and the crunchy rice actually made me giggle from joy. The servers were all very welcoming and fun, and while this is a smaller restaurant it gave a nice cozy and laid back atmosphere. Walked in randomly for a bite last Sunday and I cannot believe how great everything was!!! The menu is really interesting and not your typical sushi but it is creative and very well thought out from the fish to the smallest detail like toppings. The manager/ server was absolutely delightful explaining the menu in great detail and had extensive knowledge of the drinks and paired the perfect sake for my meal. I ended up eating more than I expected but I couldn’t help myself. I unexpectedly had an amazing meal and all around experience. In a city where people are anonymous and places impersonal it’s nice to run into somewhere that values their customers and I saw that by the few people that came in and the manager already knew their preferences and names.
