We got really lucky to find this gem in Kyoto after a late shopping raid. Although we had to wait a little bit, we got the latest reservation available at 21h, and it worth every single minute. The sushi was exquisite, the environment was welcoming and the staff so friendly and availabe to explain and suggest the best sushi... and it was really the best sushi we could have. Fresh and hand made just in front of us creating this experience even more close to the chef. It was definitely better than we could have imagined. Price per person: ¥6,000–7,000

Excellent sushi experience. We sat at the counter and sampled a range of dishes, from sushi and tempura to tartare, and everything was superb. We had a fabulous time at Sushitetsu. It offers freshly prepared nigiri at Conveyor belt sushi pricing. All nigiri is 250yen and comes in pairs. The seafood is fresh and portion is good. We had our dinner there and our bill totalled less than $80NZD. There's a wide variety of fishes to choose from including chutoro, blowfish and even whale. The chutoro isn't very fatty but still good. If you are really brave, you can get the raw chicken! There's counter seating where you can see the master doing their craft and table seating for 4-6 people as well Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
