Everything we got here was delicious! The steamed buns were great--a bit on the sweet side. Chicken and mushroom was my favorite, with veggie and meat and bbq pork close behind. The egg tart crust is flaky super tasty. The blueberry danish was fantastic--yummy blueberry compote and the hint of cheesiness was a nice touch. Soft and tender breads. Definitely planning on ordering a whipped cream berry cake here next time I need one. Happy that Millbrae has such a nice bakery option like Suzanne's.

Portuguese Egg Tarts!! *mic drop. That's all you really need to know about Suzanne's Cake & Pastry. You're definitely not coming here for their customer service, which is neutral at best. I didn't receive a greeting or smile, but when you have egg tarts this good, I'm willing to overlook a lot. As other Yelpers have mentioned, their Asian style buns are mostly solid, but nothing to write home about. I came in on a Saturday around 1:25pm, and it wasn't busy at that time. However, they were also out of egg tarts, and the new batch wouldn't be ready for another 5-10 minutes. More people starting coming in around 1:30pm, and it seems like they knew the new batch would be ready around that time? I ended up trying: -Taro Root Bun ($2.35, yelp.com/user_local_phot… ): I loved how soft and fluffy their bread was, and this bun had ample taro filling. However, the filling didn't have much flavor, and could've used a touch more sweetness. Pork Sung Sushi ($2.50, yelp.com/user_local_phot… ): Again, I loved how soft and fluffy their bread was. Their pork sung filling was on the sweeter side, and there needed to be more mayo, cheese, and filling. I would likely purchase this again over the taro though. -Portuguese Egg Tart (1 Dozen, $27, yelp.com/user_local_phot… ): THE STAR OF THE SHOW, and a must try!! Their egg tarts are HUGE, and packed with a silky smooth custard filling. I purchased these for a family get together, and we all loved their flaky and buttery crust. I will definitely be back to Suzanne's for more of their Portuguese egg tarts! Parking was easy to find at the time since street parking spots were available.
