Stopped on the way back to Topsham from Exmouth. Lympstone is a lovely village. I'd been to the Swan before for drinks, but not food. Some of the reviews were a bit mixed, but my experience was outstanding. Service very friendly and welcoming, food was superb and portions really good (I had mussels, kids had burger and fish and chips). Atmosphere was brilliant- rugby and football on inside, plenty of friendly locals, and a birthday pub crawl which was very amusing. Absolutely spot on!

Good food and drink served by very friendly and efficient staff. Lovely location on cycling and walking route. Recommend you come by train rather than car if you can as parking is extremely limited. But well worth a visit. Price per person: £30–40

We’ve been to The Swan Inn in Lymstone several times now and honestly can’t fault either the food or the service. Most recently, my boyfriend and I visited for a date night and were seated at a lovely table tucked away in the corner, which felt really special while still being part of the warm buzz of the restaurant. We enjoyed both starters and main courses, and although we were sadly too full to manage dessert this time, everything we did have was absolutely delicious. I’ve had the pie on a few occasions, including the pie special and the red wine and mushroom pie, and it is consistently so tasty and comforting. The atmosphere is always fantastic, a proper cosy pub with a really welcoming feel. We’ll very happily be back again soon! Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
