I got to try the vegan brownie gooey cake here and it did not disappoint. It is so rich and tasty. It was packed on a Saturday night but we were still served fairly quickly. I only wish the ice cream portion was a little more. It really pairs nicely with the richness of the hot cake and I ran out of ice cream before I finished the cake portion. Next time I'm in town and I visit I'd probably order an additional scoop. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We love Hot cakes in general and planned to visit on our anniversary after a special dinner! We went to Capitol Hill first which is our usual goto place, and noticed a huge line at 10PM. We decided to try out Ballard hot cakes and I till date regret not waiting in the line @capitol hill hot cakes. Firstly The Ballard place was very small and crowded. Secondly, the brownie that was served to us was BURNT and that was no where close to what we’d usually have at Hot cakes. Their brownies are RICH and creamy! But that was a huge disappointment to us.
