I hate leaving negative reviews, but my experience today at Sweet Rice was very disappointing. I called my order in over the phone and had a very difficult time understanding the employee because of the communication barrier. I carefully looked at the online menu before ordering and asked for the basil chicken fried rice. When I arrived, I was given pineapple cashew fried rice instead. I explained that I’m allergic to cashews and asked if my order could be corrected. Instead of immediately addressing the allergy, I was told someone would have to pay for the mistake and that I would need to pay for another meal. That was frustrating, especially since the order wasn’t what I had requested. After some discussion, they did remake my food, but it still wasn’t prepared the way it normally is. I order this dish regularly, and it’s usually well presented with the rice and egg cooked nicely. This time everything looked thrown together, messy, and nothing like what I’m used to receiving. The biggest issue wasn’t just the incorrect order it was the customer service. Better communication over the phone and a more customer-focused approach would make a huge difference, especially when someone mentions a food allergy. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I love Malaysian food and came here of hopes of the Khao Mun Kai tasting the same as they look very similar and the only difference is the rice is basically fried rice and the soup tastes healthier than typical Malaysian hawker chicken rice. So do note- the rice does not taste like Malaysian chicken rice but is so delicious that I couldn’t care less. The chili, poached chicken and the soup are about the same so no complaints. The pad see ew was also incredibly delicious. Got spice level 2 and not too hot- would describe it as “spicy” to a white person though. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
