Kind of felt like I was cheating today (11/28/2024) on Thanksgiving; butmy usual coffee shop (and many other businesses) are closed for the holiday. As a retired truck driver & now a cyclist in my old age, there’s one thing I’m always on the lookout for – CAFFEINE! If you’ve ever watched that funny video, (How to be a Road Biker) there’s a good facsimile of me at the end. Immediate likes and dislikes. Like: there are bike racks in front to lock up your steed. Dislike: no outside seating. You see, barring inclement weather, I ride Spring, Summer, Fall and even Winter. If the sun is out, 32°F is highly doable if dressed right. If I was to enjoy my drink inside, I’d start perspiring almost immediately. It’s just the opposite in the summer. After a 20 mile ride (or more) in the Summer, who wants to sit next to a sweaty-ass cyclist? That’s why I take it outside. The manager was nice enough to drag a chair outside for me and even offered a table. Nahthat’s too much trouble. The drink itself (a Hot Turtle/Mocha) was on par with Starbucks – not great, but not bad either. The best part wasa full $2.00 LOWER in price than Starbucks. I’ll still prefer my usual hangout. Butseeing that Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea is only a mile from my apartment, I’ll most likely be back. Service: Dine in Price per person: $1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
