On Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, I had the opportunity to dine at Subiksha Food. Upon arrival, we noted a significant odor emanating from our table, which appeared to be due to the use of an unhygienic cleaning cloth. This created an immediate discomfort. Subsequently, a server approached to take our order. During this interaction, the server unexpectedly departed to answer a phone call without prior notification. Upon her return, she processed our order with a noticeable sense of urgency, reciting it in a manner that was difficult to comprehend. Our initial dish, consisting of two idli and two vada, was satisfactory. The sambar, while flavorful and spicy, was provided in a very limited quantity, barely sufficient for the idli. Following this, our dosa orders, specifically the Mysore onion masala dosa and the red chilli onion masala dosa, were served. We found the taste of these dosas to be exceptionally poor, representing the least enjoyable experience we have had with this dish across numerous South Indian establishments. Furthermore, when we requested additional sambar, we were informed that it would incur an extra charge. The initial portion of sambar was insufficient for even half of the dosa, making it challenging to consume the dish given its unfavorable taste. This policy regarding additional sambar is unique among the restaurants we frequent. Our overall dining experience was negatively impacted. When we provided feedback to the server regarding the quality of the dosa, specifically its excessive tanginess, she became defensive. She suggested that we had ordered an incorrect item and that the tanginess was an inherent characteristic of the dish. It is generally understood that a red chilli onion masala dosa should be spicy, not tangy, and the menu did not clarify this aspect. Recognizing that our concerns would not be acknowledged, we concluded our visit. In summary, the food quality, service, and ambiance were unsatisfactory. The pricing appears disproportionate to the value offered. We question the long-term viability of an establishment operating with such practices. Very flavorful mini tifin and masala chai was great. Service is very welcoming. Surprising is that, they don't take tip. Fantastic service. Five stars deserved.

I visited Subiksha Foods and absolutely loved the experience! Tried the Idly & Vada (2x2) combo, Paper Roast Onion Dosa, Karam Onion Dosa, Rava Onion Dosa, and Poori — every single item was delicious. The taste is amazing, service is excellent, and the accompaniments make it even more special. The three chutneys (peanut, coconut, and tomato), the sambar, and the poori curries are simply unforgettable. Even now, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. A must-visit for authentic South Indian food! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: The wide variety of vegetarian options. From fluffy idlis and crispy vadas to different types of dosas and poori with rich curries there’s something for every South Indian food lover.
