This place is good for people who have supper in a hurry because they can order food as a takeout. The cool staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. I'm really sorry to give TGI Fridays - Enfield *1 star*, as the food is generally good. But it is impossible to enjoy the food when staff are rude and make you feel unwelcome.Issues began as we walked through the door today Wednesday 24th August 2022 at around 12:50pm and the music was so blaring loud we could barely hear when the waiter asked us how many seats we would like. We mentioned the music being loud and the waiter agreed it was loud then offered to turn it down a little bit, which we were extremely grateful. Once the music was turned down a bit, it was still relatively loud but not as overbearing as before. I was with my mother who is elderly, disabled and sensitive to very loud environments. But the kindness of the waiter in offering to turn the music down a little bit solidified our decision to stay.Unfortunately, around 5 minutes after taking our seats, the bartender (I was told her name is Mel) came out from the back, asked why the music was lowered, then she turned it all the way back up again. By that point we had already sat down and my mum had gotten comfortable in her chair. It is very difficult to get my mum back up again, after sitting down, due to her disability. My mum didn't want to make a fuss so we stayed, despite the impolite attitude of the bartender, Mel, and the once again very loud music.The kind waiter, came over to our table shortly afterwards to take our order. We placed our order, then I asked whether the Diet Coke I ordered would come from a bottle, can or a tap. Diet Coke is my favourite, but only from the bottle or can - not tap, and if the tap was the only option I would have happily ordered a different drink. The waiter wasn't sure, so he asked the bartender, Mel, who became quite irate at the question. Mel then came over towards our table to ask us what the issue was. I explained I wanted to know whether the Diet Coke came from a tap, bottle or can. Her response to my question was "Where have you ever had Diet Coke from a tap? Ours is mixed with soda water." Mel was extremely aggressive, and I have to admit, I was quite intimidated by Mel, so agreed to have the mixed soda water Diet Coke she mentioned. Unfortunately, the drink I was served was exactly what I was trying to avoid, so I eventually had to apologise profusely to our extremely kind waiter, and ask him to change it for a Root Beer, which definitely came in a can.I can't thank our kind waiter, Darnell, for trying to make our experience as comfortable as possible. But the bartender, Mel, was like the Antichrist. I'm sorry but there's no other way for me to put it. She was so rude, aggressive and intimidating, it was impossible for us to be comfortable in Mel's presence, despite our waiter's best efforts.To our waiter, Darnell, thank you so much for your hospitality and excellent customer service. Darnell actually removed the cost of Diet Coke from our bill, which I have posted. What an exceptional young man and waiter.To the bartender, Mel, maybe some customer relations training would work well for you? All we wanted was a nice meal, but that was unfortunately ruined by you.To TGI Fridays - Enfield, I'm so sorry for the low review, but the atmosphere created by the bartender, Mel, was so horrible I am now discouraged from ever returning to your restaurant.Your menu is tasty, but not the cheapest, so if we are paying near £50, we can at least be made to feel welcome by all staff - no matter what disabilities or preferences we have. As mentioned, my mother is elderly and disabled, and the refusal of Mel to keep the music to a reasonable level made us feel discriminated against.I have attached pictures of the bill and the takeaway boxes we eventually had to ask for, as we just couldn't stay any longer to finish our meal in your restaurant.Really sad, but we will now be avoiding TGI Friday in the future.
