It's kind of heartbreaking going back here now... this was such a staple, and a place we looked forward to going to as soon as we made it back to Baton Rouge. But not anymore... Every single thing we had this time was either dry/tough, or burnt/overcooked. And I mean everything... wings and chimis were charred, boudin balls were a little burnt tasting, the byo burger ordered medium was a hockey puck, the sausage was somehow soggy, the burnt ends were somehow black AND soggy at the same time, and the "fat end" brisket was like shoe leather. Twice, because they tried to find a piece that wasn't, but what they brought out again was still completely dry with a small line of fat (so they don't appear to know what the fat end of the brisket is, either) This has been my family's GO TO place for the last 30 years when I come back and just want reliable Baton Rouge food... but they have definitely lost their way right now... and it's heartbreaking. In hindsight, the fact that there was NO WAIT on a Friday night at 7:00 on freshman move-in weekend might have been a red flag that this place isn't what it used to be... I hope TJ Ribs finds it's way back... Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $20–30

The food is mostly really good.some things are just ok, but their ribs are always choice. They fall off the bone and they are tasty even without the sauce.
