Passing by Newell Museum, visit this cafe. Order tasty pies and perfectly cooked sandwiches. It is nice to try great coffee.

We stopped at TJ's Cafe & Waterin-Hole when we were passing through on our drive from Bismarck to Rapid City. My husband and I both had burgers made to order, baked potatoes and a side of fries. The burgers were excellent! They were made of locally raised beef and had home grown tomatoes. Nothing is better than a real garden grown tomato on a burger! Our meal hit the spot and we were happy we stopped. You never know what you're going to get when passing through a small town that your unfamiliar with. The cafe was older and had a lot of character with locals enjoying conversation. Definitely recommend Tj's.

Food is NOT expensive. My much smarter wife and I stopped by on our way back to Phoenix from visiting the land for lunch. Had a burger with pepper jack cheese: really good. Shoestring French fries: awesome. Crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on inside. Loved them. Loaded baked potato: my beautiful wife said it was great! Home made cherry pie: obsisously home.made. So delicious. Not too sweet and just the right amount of tart. The crust was flaky. Filling had the perfect consistency, not like a food service pie. Really amazing. Coffee.: wife said good. Just as good as last time. Just as good as a couple of days ago. 5/5 service and 5/5 food.

Food is expensive, they don't tell you there's an extra charge for toast and eggs on the most popular plate, even though they ask you how do you want your eggs and toast. Taste was far from good and the coffee didn't taste like coffee. Restaurant needs to be fully updated. Food took about 20 minutes even though it was empty.
