Cute ww bar during the weekend. (Different on the weekends) There weren't many people the went I went (on a Wednesday 10pm-1am). But the staff were super nice and interesting to talk - I mean who doesn't like talking to some cute people. Drinks are free flowing with a entry/drink fee (this is NT500+) - it's dependent on the night and what event is happening. So they have such cute events and events you don't want to miss. I came from the U.S. to go to Taipei Pride Parade. I hear Taboo is a good lesbian bar so I even chose a hotel nearby. I came alone around 11:30 pm on October 24 2025, the day before the pride parade. As I arrived, there was a group of people taking a photo outside. I’ve never been to this bar, so I go behind them and go inside. I’m waiting near the bar to buy a drink and a woman comes and taps my shoulder looking at my wrist. She seems irritated. She tells me I was supposed to check in at the previously empty desk outside. Oops. Never been here before. I’m obviously foreign and don’t understand. I try to laugh and apologize, she is very stone faced. She says 600 TWD per person. Ok fine. Doesn’t tell me if that’s a cover or drinks included or anything. Whatever. She hands me a wristband. I show her my wrist. She looks at me like I’m insane and tells me it’s to give the bartender. Next, there’s another woman by the door. She looks at my wrist. I try to hand her the wristband too, she’s like no and gives me a stamp on the wrist. I go to the bar and the bartender is also stone faced. I order a drink and hand her my wristband? The music is blaring and I have to yell at the top of my lungs. That seems weird to give her a 600 TWD wristband for one drink, but ok. The drink was weak. There were two groups of people sitting in the booths, and a group of 3 people on the dance floor. I’m sitting for 3-5 minutes before another staff comes and tells me I’m supposed to pay extra to reserve the booth if I want to sit. I’m supposed to stand alone on the dance floor where this is, by this time, one other person. At this point, I’m over it. I’ve travelled to lesbian bars across the whole world. I understand that experiences with patrons will vary but I’ve never been treated with such little hospitality by staff. I hand the staff my half empty drink and tell them the vibes are bad and I’m leaving. I spent 600 TWD for a half drink (at time of writing, about $19.49 usd). I ended up walking to another lesbian bar about 10-15 minutes away. Literally everything was easier and better about the 2nd place, but I was uncharacteristically nervous given how I had just been treated. I recommend to anyone reading to go to the lesbian bar that’s 10-15 minutes walk from this one. I normally will give at least 2 or 3 stars to places I don’t like, but given how much money I paid to come to Taipei and stay near this particular bar, I won’t give even 2 fake internet stars.
