Tacon Q in Tijuana blew me away. I ordered the carne asada bowl and the California burrito, and both were top-tier. The carne asada in the bowl was perfectly seasoned and grilled with that just-right char. Everything in the bowl was fresh. Every bite was balanced, and you could tell they actually care about their ingredients. But the real surprise was the California burrito. I’ve had plenty of them, especially being from the border area, but this one was probably one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Generous carne asada, crispy fries (not soggy!), creamy guac, and a tortilla that was grilled just enough to give it structure without turning it into a chore to chew. The place itself is casual but clean, with friendly staff who genuinely seem to like being there. Whether you’re a local or just coming through Tijuana, Tacon Q is worth the stop.
