Ordered sweet and sour chicken and a chicken spring roll. The spring roll even though bigger than most Chinese takeaways, had no flavour and was dry. The sweet and sour chicken was soggy and had lost it's crispiness within 10min. The sauce itself didn't taste authentic. The rice smelled a bit burned and no flavour too. Very disappointing meal Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 100–150 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

I probably last had food from Tai Chung more than 10 years ago and boy, did the Chicken Chow Faan meet my expectations! Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and certainly won’t let so much time elapse again. Sadly I also discovered that the founder passed away during COVID. May he rest in eternal peace. His legacy lives on. Hi, I think that although you are trying your best I have noticed that the quality of the noodle is not as thick as before, it was spicy but way too salty, chicken was not cut in strips and fried as dark as before. I think that you are cutting costs in the wrong approach and this will compromise the quality and your brand. I would suggest that the owner steps in and really look into the quality of the food, I know that the owner is always in the store but I assure its not the quality brand that is used to be when your dad ran the place or when you were based in rosmead avenue. I recall that last year the noodles being slightly thicker, a little drier, les glutonous, and darker chicken strips. and this was the ideal chowmein. Currently I feel that the chef who has no experience in taste is probably cutting corners.
