Japanese cuisine can be served here. The truth is that you will really like tasty Bbq pork, broth and grilled beef. Get your meal started with great tea or good coffee.

There is a charming atmosphere and cute decor at this bbq.

Awwww, TaiSho BBQ Bowl in Temple City closed way too fast. We went there 7 months ago and enjoyed what we ordered. Beef bowl with poached egg, popcorn chicken, black pepper steak, fried tempura, and pudding to finish. Service was good and it was sad to see them closed.

Just a heads up for everyone. Today I was going to order take out for some beef bowl but the restaurant has closed and changed into some Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant named Paths to Spicy. Just beware for everyone who tried to go to this restaurant.

I've been seeing this place as I drive by occasionally, never thought about trying it until tonight because my brother keeps mentioning it and I finally gave in to his demands. My order was the mentaiko beef bowl. The mentaiko sauce is quite delicious. It's basically an aoili flavored with mentaiko. Mentaiko is cod roe, found mainly in Japanese and Korean food which tastes like masago (smelt roe) but I would say less salty/fishy and somewhat minty almost.  The rest of the dish was somewhat lacking, however. Beef was somewhat overcooked, rice was a bit clumpy and perhaps overcooked as well since it had a bit of chewiness from being dried out a bit (versus being undercooked and hard in the middle). Comes with 3 veggie sides and a miso soup, which were all okay. There's room for improvement but I do like the flavor of this sauce. If it was slightly cheaper (maybe $2 cheaper) I would consider this more often but it's hard for me to want to pay around ~$15-16 after tax and tip for this. Maybe if the cooking quality was better it would be worth it. Something worth considering is their combo deal which is $5 more for one of their "category A" appetizers plus a tea drink.
