I recently visited Taj Restaurant, hoping to enjoy some authentic Kerala cuisine, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this was going to be a disappointing visit. The ambiance was awful—the lighting was too dim, and the overall atmosphere felt dull and uninviting. The tables were not clean, and the entire place seemed like it hadn’t been properly maintained in a long time. It didn’t give off any of the warmth or vibrancy I associate with Kerala. The customer service was equally poor. The staff were inattentive and seemed disinterested in providing a good dining experience. It took a long time for anyone to take our order, and when the food finally arrived, it was served with barely a word. There was no friendliness or professionalism, just a sense that they didn’t care whether we enjoyed our meal or not. As for the food, it was a major disappointment. The portions were surprisingly small, especially for the prices they charged. To make matters worse, the food wasn’t even hot—it was served lukewarm at best, which really took away from the flavor and enjoyment. The dishes lacked the rich, bold flavors that Kerala cuisine is known for. It was clear that little care or attention had been put into preparing the food. Overall, I would not recommend the is to anyone looking for a genuine Kerala dining experience. The poor ambiance, lackluster service, and disappointing food make this a place to avoid.
