Excellent old school izakaya with plastic walls, kerosene heaters, store your own bottle at the store - the works. Draft beer was good and not skunky, chu his and highballs were strong but not too stiff. The fried chicken, yakitori and home made french fries were great. Star of the show was the oden appetizer that came with the table charge of 280 yen, sweet and savory sauce with tender but not mushy radishes and tofu. Will be back next time we are in Kinugawa or Nikko Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

i got told to leave as soon as i came in. i could see the place was busy, i understood it was am izakaya (snacks and drinks style) but i was told to leave straight away. no questions asked. i assumed this was a tourist friendly spot but i guess not as friendly on this particular night. Meal type: Dinner Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
